A total of 46 participants from the AFC’s Member Associations (MAs) and Regional Associations (RAs) as well as Independent Stakeholders will sit for the FMC programme, which targets aspiring leaders aiming to uplift Asian football and set new standards of excellence.

Based on a comprehensive curriculum of skillsets and industry knowledge, participants will attend virtual lectures and discussions, sit for quizzes and present business projects.

They will put in 290 hours of study in nine core modules that will enable them to effectively and efficiently develop skillsets in the key areas of management to oversee daily football operations against the backdrop of the game’s ever-developing nature and business.

These modules comprise the Organisation of World Football, Strategic Management, Financial Management, Income Generation, Media & Communications, Event Management, Operational Management, Human Resource Management and Child Safeguarding.

In launching the programme, AFC Deputy General Secretary – Member Associations, Vahid Kardany said: “The overwhelming response from across all the five AFC zones is a clear indication of the progress and success of the FMC.

“The responsibility of continuing this proud legacy now falls on the shoulders of participants of our fourth FMC edition. It is their duty to embody the values of professionalism and good governance that have become synonymous with the AFC in the last decade.”

He added that participants would need to continuously keep themselves updated with the industry’s best practices as part of a lifelong journey in view of the constantly evolving and advancing areas of football administration.

The landmark FMC underlines the AFC’s commitment to provide customised, dedicated services that enhance and benefit its MAs, RAs and the world’s football community.

The FMC has seen enrolment increase over its three editions. Launched in October 2021, the second edition commenced in January this year before the third in May saw a record number of 49 participants.

Select FMC graduates with Distinction had been extended internships and positions within the AFC while others have been promoted by their MAs and RAs for their outstanding performance.

The FMC was introduced under the AFC Academic Centre of Excellence (ACE), an online education platform launched in September 2021 that is anchored in the core values of excellence, innovation and passion for football education.
