Brazil strengthened their grip at the top of the FIFA Futsal Men’s World Ranking, while Argentina, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Venezuela and the Netherlands rose.

Brazil’s conquering of the FIFA Futsal World Cup™ has crystallised their position atop the FIFA Futsal Men’s World Ranking. The brilliance of Willian, Marlon, Marcel, Dyego, Pito and Co at Uzbekistan 2024 has seen Marquinhos Xavier’s side enhance their lead over second-placed Portugal from 40.8 to 104.42 points.

Argentina, whom Nico Sarmiento, Angel Claudino, Kevin Arrieta and Mati Rosa inspired to six straight wins before a 2-1 defeat to their arch-rivals in the final, leapfrogged IR Iran and Spain into third, while Kazakhstan, Portugal’s last-16 hangmen, rose three places to fifth.

Ukraine, Venezuela and the Netherlands – all revelations at the global finals – made significant progress. Rostyslav Semenchenko, Danyil Abakshyn and fellow bronze-medallists jumped three spots to ninth, while Carlos Sanz, Kevin Briceno and the Vinotinto ascended six places to 15th after stunning Spain to reach the quarter-finals. Manuel Kuijk, Ismail Ouaddouh and the Dutch were surprise qualifiers for the knockout phase, and their reward was a 10-position ascent to 26th.

Nations who missed out on the 10th FIFA Futsal World Cup also excelled – none more so than Chile, who soared 31 spots to 60th. Since the last FIFA Futsal Men’s World Ranking was published in May, La Roja have been in superb form, losing just two of eight outings, both 3-2 to Argentina. Their results during the period include beating Paraguay 6-1, Argentina 3-2 and Russia 3-0.

Others heading in the right direction were Bosnia and Herzegovina (up 6 to 48th), Latvia (up 16 to 71st) and Denmark (up five to 77th).
