The Paris 2024 Women’s Olympic Football Tournament is already taking shape, with five of the 12 participants already confirmed, as Brazil, Canada, Colombia and USA joining hosts France.

While CAF’s two representatives will not be decided until April 2024, its qualifying process is about to enter the second round. The home-and-away ties will run from 25 to 31 October and has the four teams who flew the flag for Africa at the FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia & New Zealand 2023™ – Morocco, Nigeria, South Africa and Zambia – enter the race.

Only five African countries have participated in the Women’s Olympic Football Tournament since its inaugural edition at Atlanta 1996: Cameroon, Nigeria, South Africa, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
