Football's all-time leading international scorer to call time after 20 years of service with her country.
Christine Sinclair has announced she will be retiring from international duty at the end of the year after more than 20 years of service with the Canada national team.
She made her international bow in 2000 aged just 16 – then Canada’s youngest-ever player – in a 4-0 loss to China PR. Three years later, she netted her first FIFA Women’s World Cup goal with what would become a trademark header against eventual champions Germany. Canada would go on to reach the semi-finals of her debut tournament – their best World Cup finish to date.
