Former Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi speaks to FIFA about winning the Club World Cup, facing Palmeiras and completing his European medal set.

By the age of just 21, Callum Hudson-Odoi was on the verge of conquering club football. A meteoric rise had taken the winger soaring through the Chelsea ranks via a FIFA U-17 World Cup™ win with England, to become a first-team regular and a serial trophy collector.

The Cobham youth prospect helped the Blues to win the UEFA Europa League in 2019, before featuring seven times during the club’s successful UEFA Champions League run two years later and securing a ticket to the FIFA Club World Cup™.

A penalty shootout victory against Villarreal sealed the UEFA Super Cup that August, leaving Hudson-Odoi within touching distance of history.

“Playing in such a big competition was a crazy experience for me”, Hudson-Odoi tells FIFA as he reflects on the 2021 Club World Cup. “Going into it, all the boys were excited. We wanted to win a trophy, so it was definitely an opportunity to be there.”
