The 21-year-old will no doubt be one to watch at this year's FIFA Club World Cup 2025.

Jamal Musiala has penned a contract extension with FC Bayern München, the club announced on Friday. The 21-year-old, whose contract was set to expire next year, has committed his future to the German giants until 2030.

“I’m really happy. Bayern is one of the biggest clubs in the world,” the superstar told Bayern’s official website. “I took my first steps in professional football here and firmly believe we can achieve something big with this club in the coming years. I feel at home both in Munich and at the club with our great fans. We’ve got a lot of things we want to achieve. I’m excited for everything that’s to come.”

Bayern President, Herbert Hainer, added: “What a great early 125th anniversary present for the club and the fans (the anniversary takes place on 27 February). People go to the stadium for players like Jamal Musiala. He’s a truly exceptional player. Sometimes you feel like the rules of gravity don’t apply to him. Credit to our sporting management and the board. Today is a very good day for FC Bayern.”

He arrived at the Bavarian heavyweights as a 16-year-old from Chelsea’s academy in 2019 and went on to become the club’s youngest player when he made his senior bow at 17 years and 115 days old in June 2020 in a victory over Freiburg. Just 90 days later he displaced Roque Santa Cruz as the club’s youngest Bundesliga goalscorer when he netted against Schalke in a record-tumbling 8-0 win. Musiala has gone on to rack up 193 appearances all told, contributing 58 goals and 31 assists.

During that time he has helped the Reds to four Bundesliga crowns, three German Supercups, the UEFA Champions League, the UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup™. His eyes will now be set on continuing that dominance at home and in Europe, before taking it to the world this June in the USA, as Bayern face Auckland City FC, CA Boca Juniors and SL Benfica in the newly-formatted FIFA Club World Cup 2025.

Musiala will also hope to return to the States next year, as Germany’s FIFA World Cup 26™ qualifying campaign gets under way in September. The midfielder, who has seven goals from 38 caps, has already played at three major tournaments and has become a focal point of Julian Nagelsmann’s side.
