Oman eventually shrugged off the nagging attentions of a Mexico side which refused to give up to win their first match at UAE 2024 Dubai™.

Despite falling behind inside 17 seconds to a Yahya Al Muraiki strike, Mexico turned the game around and took the lead through a superb Diego Martinez volley.

The Omanis would recover, though, to score four unanswered goals – headlined by a superb solo effort from captain Khalid Al Oraimi – to swing the game in their favour and earn three valuable points.
