Al Nassr will be confident of securing progress into the quarter-finals when they host Al Fayha in their AFC Champions League™ 2023/24 Round of 16 return leg at the Al Awwal Stadium on Wednesday.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s strike gave Al Nassr a 1-0 win in the first leg with the Riyadh-based side looking to return to the quarter-finals for the first time since the 2021 edition.

Al Fayha put up a fight at the Prince Faisal bin Fahd Stadium last week, but Al Nassr’s quality proved decisive with Ronaldo netting in the 81st minute.

With first choice keeper Raghed Al Najjar taken off midway through the first half of their Saudi Pro League 2023/24win over Al Fateh, Waleed Abdullah is expected to return between the sticks.

Luis Castro’s side will not be short of attacking options despite Brazilian Otavio limping out of their weekend fixture after finding the net together with Ronaldo, who will have tournament top scorer Talisca and Sadio Mane backing him up.

Al Fayha’s 3-1 win against Al Hazm in the Saudi Pro League came at a perfect time for Vuk Rasovic’s men, who ended their five-match losing streak thanks to Henry Onyekuru’s brace, with Anthony Nwakaeme also contributing.

The Al Majma’ah-based side will have to adopt a more attacking approach in their quest to secure their first AFC Champions League quarter-final berth.
