The 28-year old will join Tottenham on January 1 following the expiry of her contract with American side Racing Louisville.

Tottenham said her contract will run until 2026 and Wang Shuang will wear the number 77 for the women’s first team.Born in Wuhan, the 2018 AFC Women’s Player of the Year started out representing Wuhan Jianghan University and has returned there on several occasions throughout her career while clocking up several major honours.

In 2013, she signed for Korea Republic side Daejeon Sportstoto and helped them reach the FA Cup Final in her first season there, being named Most Valuable Player in the process, before winning back-to-back Chinese Women’s Super League titles with Dalian Quanjian in 2016 and 2017.

Following one season in France with Paris Saint-Germain in 2018/19, Wang Shuang won two further Chinese Women’s Super League titles back at Wuhan Jianghan University in 2020 and 2021 before heading to the United States to join Racing Louisville in the National Women’s Soccer League in August, 2022.A senior international for China since 2013, Shuang has established herself as an integral figure for her country. She has progressed to win well over 100 caps, has played at three FIFA Women’s World Cups – including scoring against England at this year’s tournament – and won the AFC Women’s Asian Cup India 2022, scoring five goals in the tournament.

Having also represented her country at the Olympics and Asian Games, she is a four-time Chinese Women’s Footballer of the Year.
