Zambia have qualified for their first FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup™ in a decade, seeing off Morocco to secure the penultimate spot at the youth showpiece.
A 0-0 draw in Morocco saw the Copper Princesses ease to a 3-1 aggregate success, with the hard work having been done in the first leg on 8 June.
The heroine of that home win was Namute Chileshe, who scored all three of the Zambian goals and is sure to be one of the players to watch in the Dominican Republic this October and November.
In the return, it was the team’s defence that shone, earning a clean sheet that ensured the Copper Princesses will compete on the world stage for just the second time in their history.
